Kevin McCloud, the brainchild behind Hab Housing, is seeking £1.5 million from investors to embark on a massive self-build project where he wants to help build 1000 self-build homes a year from 2018.
In return investors are being promised dividends of at least 5% by the end of 2016, as well as a 5% discount off a new home.
Promising to involve architects at every stage of this venture to customise homes for buyers, the TV presenter is looking to finance mixed housing projects that will include up to 50% self-build plots.
Mainly looking at sites in the West Country around Gloucestershire and Bristol, McCloud want to employ architects to do community consultations and the proposition would be for self-build to be part of a planning application, asking buyers to use the architects to design the homes.
McCloud has until 24th August to raise at least £1 million via the crowdfunding website Crowdcube.
